[Public-List] Circumnavigations

I appreciate your insights, Jeffrey. I have been on many listserves and
admit I don't fully understand how a forum would be different than the
interaction shown on the A30 list when someone has a problem.
The thing that constantly amuses me is how, after someone expresses a
problem and various solutions are proposed, inevetibly the initial person
almost always resolves the problem with his first instinct. I guess there
are so many solutions to specific problems support for that initial
instinct can always be found.
Another observation expressed on another listserv is by the time a thread
has been responded to by about 7 times, the thread is played out. I have
found that to be mostly true, which again makes me question the real value
of an open forum.
I take your point about the difficulty of searching the archive. I did the
mast beam wiki, editing past posts, and it was time consuming. I wrote the
difficulty off to my ineptitude on things wiki, or perhaps computer in
general.
