[Public-List] Anchor windlass question

Mornin' Michael

We installed a deck washdown on the foredeck when we converted to all chain.
At the time I spent somewhere around $250 total for the system including a
proper seacock, Jabsco pressure switch deckwash pump, threaded deck coupling
and hoses. Today I imagine one could shop carefully and get the whole
shebang for $150.

Worth every penny, one can be underway at speed and still washdown. Sailing
on Lake Ontario allows us in the sweet water to shower on deck as well,
which is great.

Agree whole heartedly, if one is going to chain, a washdown pump is
essential.

As Mike Holmes says 'Do it once, do it right'

Your back will thank you.

Cheers,

John
