As far as I know, the US just requires that you can lock the overboard
valve. I use a tiewrap screwed to the bulkhead that holds the handle

I routed mine to the bow. If you use two breather vents, one on each
side of the bow, you'll get air flowing through due to the difference in
air pressure on the two sides. This help keep the tank aerobic rather
than anaerobic. See
