[Public-List] Boom Vang Specifications

I am looking to add a boom vang to my boat, especially since reading some of the old posts about the boom becoming caught by the backstay during a jib due to a lifted boom.  I am wondering what size vang others have used.  I see everything from 600 lbs to 2250 lbs swl and various line sizes.  Even when they refer to boat sizes there is quite the range for 30 ft boats.
