Hello gang

I'm about to start Day Three of the 5.5 Meter Class regatta our club is hosting. There's a 5.5 named "Purple Haze" from Maryland who says he knows some of you A30 people on the Chesapeake  Small world.  

I'm skippering Jill, a quite lovely 5.5 literally hours out of a huge refit that ended her decades of internment ashore.  She's 'holy crap' fast... But tough to keep in the groove.   We broke spreaders one both the previous days of racing... DNF'd across the board.  Winds have been 20-25+ and these are very powerful boats.  

Yesterday I was felled by the boom when I let her gybe while adjusting her backstay..silly boy!  . CT scan showed my brains no more scrambled than usual...good thing I'm thick headed.  

So, rig repaired, me with a headache, crew still game, we're going out to do battle again.  If I can only keep Jill going and in the right direction, we could do well
