[Public-List] no power to propeller

Brad,
I have a 1965 Grey Marine engine that is collecting dust in my warehouse.  It may be useful as parts for your engine, or someone else on the list.  I believe the only thing wrong with the engine is the carburetor became blocked, but I did a repower anyway.  Its has a new electronic distributor on it as well.  Unfortunately I am in the metro Detroit area and not close to many of those on the list because shipping the engine would be expensive.  If you or anyone is interested let me know.

I am not up on engines, to say the least. The manual says that I have planet ray gears. So, is it the clutch that is slipping?Sent from my iPhoneOn Jun 16, 2014, at 12:24 PM, Glenn Brooks <brooks.glenn at comcast.net> wrote:> Yep, sounds like the friction plates in the tranny are worn out and slipping.  Eventually even in low power setting, you will have no thrust.> > Glenn b> dolce 318> > Sent from my iPad> >> On Jun 16, 2014, at 3:22 AM, Bradford Cooke <bradfordcooke1 at gmail.com> wrote:>> >> Hi Guys,>> Thank you for your replies.  The prop has been cleared at all times, so I>> don't think that something wrapped around the prop is the problem.
