[Public-List] Motor Replacement continued

I hope Yanmar has improved the noise level of their motors.  We have a 2qm15 installed in Slainte #129.  It was done in the early 80's by a previous owner.  I recently replaced all the insulation in the motor box but the db level is still high.  Idling  and low speed are the worst. The yanmar "Hammer" is in full play.

Wes,

If you would like to see a Yanmar 2GM20F installed in a 1967 Alberg, please
let me know.  There is one aboard #262.
The new Yanmar's, 2YM15 and 3YM20, have the raw water pump installed with
the impeller facing forward and accessible.  Previously you had to remove
the pump from the engine to access the impeller.  The oil dipstick has been
relocated to the front side of the engine from the starboard side.  On the
other hand, the position of the oil filter is worse, seems to be back where
the oil dip stick was.

Was wondering which boat you had.  Tried to find you in the A30BoatHistory
spreadsheet without success.
