Dustin,

Where is the boat?
There is quite a bit on the boat that you can't easily find anymore, from the spars and other rig components to deck fittings, to teak, etc....  I agree it would be a shame to lose all those items.

Is the boat still outfitted?  There is a place in Annapolis that sells used marine hardware (and sails) on a consignment basis.  If there is enough on the boat that may sell on consignment it might offset the costs involved in acquiring the boat. 

If you're anywhere near Annapolis there may be volunteers available to help strip the boat and get components to the consignment shop or sent to those who asked for specific items.

Discussions with the boat yard owner and scrapper have gotten messy, but
essentially I could take ownership of the boat, but it would be. 500+$ to
get it out of jail limbo... maybe a lot more. Until then, I can't collect

to pay that out of pocket with no way to recoup costs as I was planning to
send out parts for y'all free if you paid shipping. Not much I need on it,
so unless something on there is worth it to someone to front the cost, I
might back away from this opportunity.

Thanks for y'alls interest, I thought this was a great easy opportunity for
everyone, sorry if I got your hopes up... mine was too.
