[Public-List] Main Halyard Shiv

I recently replaced my wire halyard with an all rope halyard but instead of replacing the shiv I just abandoned it in place and instead installed a small block with a shackle at the top of the mast. This has been working great.  I've been out in some heavy thunderstorms and had no problems raising or reefing or lowering the mainsail and this was much simpler and cheaper than replacing the shiv.
