Team,

Thanks for the help, by removing the electric panel and leaning over the engine I was able to remove the coupling bolts, and while there also the engine mount top bolts.

Next weekend the engine is coming out!

Prefabed the new floor with hatch, and lateral reinforcing strips every 12" in my shop and laid it on top of the ledge, bedded in FG structural putty, then tabbed the whole thing in with multiple layers mat and roving around the top and as much of the underneath as I could reach. Before the floor went back in, Also laid in battery boxes, degreased and painted the engine compartment and aft bilge, and heavily reinforced the bronze rudder tube assembly with fiberglass mat and roving as it was leaking and loose. So resolved a bunch of issues in one fell swoop, more or less.

It didn't attack the glue, indeed didn't seem to even penetrate the veneer at all. I will say I put it on sparingly, used a couple of thin coats and scrapped each off fairly quickly, after 10 minutes maybe, as I to was concerned about the caustic material in the stripper aggressively eating into the wood glue. But, never saw any sign of damage. Once the old crud was out of the wood, wiped down with acetone, then thinner and sealed with teak oil, then applied 7 coats tung oil on the bulkheads, and I think two coats on the floor - enuf to seal out the dirt, but not make it slick and dangerous to walk on. I don't think I would worry about stripper having an advert us effect on the plywood.

I'm just starting to learn about all the little details. ?She is a 1971 liner boat. ?She has a round access port in the cockpit that looks to be original based on the non-skid pattern around the access port. ?Did liner boats ship with an access port in the cockpit or is this a case of a factory customization or a very well done after market install??
