Good morning Hernan...

I agree... 1/4" is too thin ergonomically.  5/16" is better... And I'd
suggest the cost of light weight line (polyester sheath with polypro core)
is worth it.

Rather than a foreguy, our pole gear is rigged with a trangulated spinnaker
pole downhaul to the fwd face of the mast.  That way we don't have to adjust
it every time we adjust the spinnaker guy.

Single sheets is fine in boats our size.
