I am in the process of rebuilding mine, and the trouble is that once you raise the countertop height, there is not much room to have anything dropping down from the deck. You need to raise the countertop height, in order to get a decent amount of internal volume. I put 3 inches of insulation (R20 apparently), and maybe depending on where you are you can get away with 2". I will put a link in the list as it progresses. Yes indeed.  Feel the same way.  Think maybe turn it into a separate
container without a drain.  Make it out with a sponge.  Just large enough
for a six pack and ice.  But it might intrude too much into the space
below.
