Bob: I am confident that the chip could be filled by brazing with bronze filler rod and a bit of filing.

George :
Do you know if a skilled prop shop is able to reduce the pitch on a bronze prop ?

Cheers,  Rod

</div>George,
I'm new to most of this as i started sailing a couple seasons ago. I've
gotten two opinions about the current prop. They were both very experienced
sailers / mechanics. They were of different opinions.Since i have it out to
redo the bottom and the cutless bearing needs replacing, the prop needs to
come off. So i thought i would go new and keep the old one as an emergency
spare. It has a chip at one end and has spotty discoloration. I wasn't
aware that they could be rebuilt. #76 is kept in Gloucester, Va ( I live in
Richmond ) and im still having trouble finding A-30 specific knowledge and
support locally.
