Folks,

Regarding potable water. Have been thinking about one or more integral
tanks. Nigel Calder in his tome writes of installing an integral tank in
the part of the bilge between the settees and that the wine glass shape of
our hulls is ideal for this. James Baldwin has installed an integral tank
in the v-berth. Neither describes how to seal the top of the tank to the
body of the tank. Both describe how they built the tank....install pipe to
withdraw water, install passage to allow any water from the chain locker to
run to the bilge, paint the bottom and side with epoxy, smooth it out well,
install baffles (Calder uses solid fiberglass, Baldwin uses epoxy coated
plywood), paint the tank with BrewCoat or other FDA approved material,
attach the top, install fill and vents, install inspection ports.

Thoughts ?

How does not attach the top so that it will be water tight and smoothly
connected so that one can clean the inside of the tank throughly ?
