I have a Simrad TP22, at least four years old but probably several more than that (it came with the boat).  I sail on a salt water lake in Louisiana year round and it works great, no problems. I mostly just use it as a third hand to steer or lock the tiller when raising, lowering or reefing the mainsail. I use sheet-to-tiller steering when sailing (tracks the apparent wind vs compass). Takes some initial effort but once you get the hang of it it works great on any course but a dead run and in winds up to about 20 mph. Daniel SwordsSolitude #525Lake Pontchartrain

I also use a Simrad TP32. It works well but I wouldn't trust it for long
passages. It just does not seem very durable. I've used it for 2 years.
