A while back, we had (it was my dad's boat that we bought in Spain and
brought it back) an HR 42 with a hard, fixed windshield and "soft"
enclosure - for me, that was the ultimate as the windshield provided a
stout handhold when going forward and clear glass to see through.  The
canvas could be quickly deployed or struck as most days were nice.

I'm guessing something like that could be "scaled" to fit an A30.  You
could probably model something in Rhino or some other program to give you
an idea.

I believe that Read Beigel made a mold for Alberg 30 sea hoods. I'm not 
sure whether that was for the new-style, old-style, or both. Maybe Mike 
Lehman knows.
