Folks,

It is very simple to remove the coamings. I take them home during the winter when they need to be refinished. All of the bolts are easily accessible.

My cockpit coamings require refinishing. As it is somewhat difficult to refinish them in place, I am considering removing them and refinishing at home. Can anyone advise me of the difficulty in removing and re-installing them.

Unless you are very skilled at woodworking and careful, also seeking
perfection, I would not recommend removing them. If you have questions on

Tom. I have done this. It depends on the residual strength of any bedding
that was used to install them .  If they are original then the bedding is
probably degraded and little prying will be required .

The nuts are not too difficult to get to, but do require getting into the
lockers.

I suggest removing all the hardware, then inserting wedges all along the
wood-Fiberglass edge.
In my case it just took a good yank to get them off .
