[Public-List] Opening Ports: Bronze or Aluminum

Dear Albergers,

Regarding the opening ports on an Alberg 30. Seems that some boats had
bronze opening ports among the four located forward of the main cabin. Some
boats appear to have had aluminum opening ports.
Any ideas why and when the switch was made? Which is better?

The bronze is much heavier. The outside bronze trim ring is about 2.25lbs,
while the aluminum is 0.5lbs.
