Yes, I see that that brand new chart reflects various survey updates from 1965 to 1998 - 57 years ago to 24 years ago. But when you get old, a half or quarter-century is not long ago. :=)

2201 is just the inland route strip chart… the one for our end of Georgian Bay is 2241 and was issued as a brand new chart reflecting the new survey not long ago.  2241 replaced the older chart.

Easy enough to check. Just look at a chart. For instance, I notice, that your hometown Chart CHS2201, the latest Georgian Bay edition of 2020 says, "Sources: Compiled by the Canadian Hydrographic Service from surveys to 1968." New surveys don't look too constant there.

Good morning Rod… yes, that may be at issue here.  A reprint is not, in my terminology, a new chart.  A new chart is the result of a new survey… the CHS does them constantly.

I have no knowledge of how such things are handled in the States.

Meanwhile, it was blowing the dog off the chain (so to speak) here a few hours ago, but now looking out the window I see a peaceful winter morning.  I think I’ll go and see if SURPRISE still has her tarp in place.
