[Public-List] is the foam inert?

If I were doing it I would try to get a bit of the foam out and SEE
if it melts in acetone or some other chemical). I would be dubious
about burning it out. Likely to leave a difficult residue or even
weaken the aluminum. Auguring it out sounds pretty difficult.

- incidentally, in last Sunday's stiff breeze we blew out the genoa. It
was 20+ years old - It replaced the one blown out in Isabel, so it did
not owe us much. This was the second time the fabric split not on a
seam, so I do not think it is worth repairing again. Fortunately we had
a spare, but getting it mounted so the roller furilng would work was a
chore. The furling line jammed up on the drum. Never had happened
before, but the problem was getting the halyard at the top of the mast
not to twist around the furling extrusion. Finally got it straight.
