[Public-List] Companionway dimensions

We hold the bottom (aft) cockpit with an appropriately tight 1/4" 
seamstresses elastic and because the hatch is tapered, we use the same 
material that's probably 12 threads to the inch or thereabouts with at 
least a circumference and a half of the hatch, more if its windy. This 
works until it rains and then the hatch cover needs to be lifted over 
the louvered piece and a towel below that. The piece at the front needs 
to be pulled in, as quickly as possible. I usually hang it over the sink 
when its wet.
