[Public-List] Whale pump

Those Whale pumps are a pain. I gave up trying to fix mine, and bought a
new one. First off, the new pumps have metric screws. This is an
improvement in standardization over the British Standard Whitworth screws
of the original, but means the fitting will not be backwards compatible.
The default flow is backwards from what it needs to be for an Alberg 30,
and needed to be reversed. In principle, the should be easy, but in the
unit I bought, the holes had been cast and drilled slightly wrong, so I
couldn't reverse it without extra machining. Not acceptable in a unit this
expensive. I returned it.

I ended up fixing the existing unit with a bit of sanding and some gasket
sealant. I'll be buying a different model in the fall.
