[Public-List] Racor clogged filter gauge

I have a 2QM with a primary racor filter. The issue I have had is when the
filter plugs up (a maintenance fault-my bad) it screws up the high pressure
fuel pump, and maybe the injectors too. I installed a vacuum pump on the
filter housing hoping for a heads up before small problems become big ones.
Again.
Anyway, the needle just barely moves with new filters, not to mention
rebuilt pump and injectors, so I am going to recommend the guage.
Of course, just changing filters annually or so is the prudent thing.
I do suck out a quart or so of diesel from the bottom of the tank after an
oil change using the dipstick tube pump that I need for the Yanmar. Cleans
up the pump if nothing else. That routine worked for years, until it
didn't, I am embarrassed to report.
