We have been using green antifouling paint for the bootstrap with great results. It is easily cleanable and barnacles and slim don’t appear there. After 20 years there is a noticeable buildup of paint thickness on the bootstrap but only visible with the spring “boat yard it is” of micro examination of hull. Not apparent after launch. Sooner or later will have to remove the paint buildup but will not have any extra cost when the future walnut shell blast to remove all the other bottom paint is performed.
