Greg,

Given that you dont have a ton of gear on board
and that the scum line ends up close to the "etched" line,
it suggests that the "etched" line should be used as the waterline
with anti-foul applied to the "etched" line.  Otherwise, the boat ends
up with topside paint, for the boot stripe, continuously immersed.

Takes about 700 pounds of weight to push an Alberg 30 one inch
deeper into the water per the attached diagram and its notes.
