I use VC 17 bottom paint. I've been useing it for about 14 years. It seems
to resist zebra muscles, so it might resist other things too. They have a
salt water version also VC 17 is for fresh water. It has teflon in it and
it really does appear to be faster. I boutht an airless spray gun that I only
use for this. I paint my boat with three cans. (less than a quart, but I
fill them up with acetone to make one quart, pluss I thin it a little more.
It is very thin, and you can launch right away, in fresh water. Also, it is
easy to put on compared with other paints.
