Friends:

As any long time A30 racer or any other racer should know - rule #1 is
keep the weight out of the ends of the boat.    The same is true with
cruising long distance, unless you like the 'hobby horsing' the boat
will do in chop or waves.   Just sail beside a correctly trimmed out 30
with a 30 that has weight all over the place and you will see exactly
what I'm getting at.   The loss of speed and weatherlyness is very real
and a factor to seriously account for particularly if you find yourself
needing to claw off a lee shore.

Consider a Vetus, or other, flexible tank in a smoothed housing under
the cabin sole, or under the settees or to one side of the V berth as
far aft as possible.  64lb a cubic foot adds up pretty quick. 

But your call, your boat.
