The Spirit Line boats, Potomac Spirit and Spirit of Washington are
fairly large craft, well over 100 feet. For some reason after they leave
theip pier at the south end of Maine Avenue they run up to the head of
Washington Channel before heading down the river. This in the evening is
at 6 p.m. On the way back, later, they just run to their pier. (I was a
mate working on captaining on Spirit of Washington in 1993 but found it
too boring).
