[Alberg30] Re:Jib Halyard

I am in the process of adding a block at the bottom of the mast to turn the halyard to a winch on the cabin top. I therefore need to replace the jib halyard. Could I get some advise from the group??
1. Sailnet has Yale ultra low stretch Rope on sale, is that appropriate?
2. If so, what size and how long should it be?
SallyB #441 is 230 miles away so I am not able to  measure for myself.
