[Alberg30] Exhaust system

Matthew,

Does your exhaust system look like the one pictured at
http://www.alberg30.org/maintenance/MechanicalPropulsion/StandpipeExhaust/ ?
If so, it's not the source of your rust.

The first step is to look for where the fumes are originating.  The
flange on the back of the exhaust manifold is a good candidate, but
there are other places, too.  The manifold itself could be cracked,
of there could be a problem with the exhaust piping.  

You might even find that the fumes are not exhaust, but a blow-by
escaping around the piston rings into the crankcase and then into
the boat.  If that's the case, then the PCV valve kit will buy you
some time.

My advice is to isolate the problem a bit more before discussing
the solution.
