Mark, Larry, and Stephen,
Thanks for your comments. Before I read your e-mails I broused the public list archives and read about the two piece "home made" through hulls that Whitby installed. I quickly ran out back to check what we had, and there they were, just like they were described. It was a bit eerie. 
So, after reading your responses, it was easy to come to the conclusion that I am going all the way - new thru-hulls, new seacocks, even new hoses.
 
I feel a whole lot better now.
