You are making the right move. I'll be curious to know if you find valves to
match the machine thread on the thru hulls. I guess if you go with marine
seacocks there is not an issue, but I would consider going with ball
valves-except for the steel stem that the handle attaches to, they seem
bullet proof. I don't know if non rusting, non pipe thread versions are
available

I do have seacocks on Checkmate, but 1. they are expensive 2. One has to
remember to tear them down for cleaning and greasing whenever the boat goes
on the hard-not a hard job, but it's one more thing...
