Mike,

Last year was the first time we used a bolt to hold the bail for the vang in
place. I plan on bolting the bail to both sides of the mast which will
eliminate this bolt into the mast step.

I'm curious as to how many A-30 owners have a bolt completely across the 
foot of
the mast connecting it to the base-plate?

As far as I know - All Albergs have this bolt at the base of the mast. I 
have never seen one without one.
