And, the presumption that a crimp fitting is the proper way to accomplish
marine wiring (per ABYC) is based on a "professional" installation.  Most
pros use a ratcheting crimping tool (about $25) which gives consistent,
reliable crimps in a range of sizes. I bought one about halfway through
re-wiring 219 when I noticed that my late day crimps weren't worth a damn
because of hand fatigue.  Money well spent.  Good automotive parts stores
have these tools for less than the marine suppliers--surprise!!
