[Alberg30] stanchion bases (frigoboat and grounding shoe)

  Greg,
Yes, I'm on a dock and plugged in most of the time. I did run off the
batteries for the weather shortened vacation (1+ weeks to Block Island and
back). I have a "new old stock" Cruising Design Amp Hour Meter installed.
That way I know when to recharge using the engine. My battery bank last year
(and currently) is 2 group 31 AGM Lifelines (105 ah ea) on a standard
battery switch. This coming season, I'll be doubling the AH capacity by
putting these two 12V in parallel on batt 1 and adding 2 6V AGM in series on
batt 2. We're planning a group cruise to Bermuda this summer, so I figure I
need the increased AH now. My new arrangement will give me 210 ah on batt 1
and 220 ah on batt 2.
I spent a lot of time talking to the Frigoboat guy and actually waited for
the SSC to be available before buying. I'm convinced that the SSC is a
worth while add on. You should contact them and ask if it could be
retrofitted. It will save you some AH and is a plug in installation.
Brian
