[Alberg30] Window storm shutters? Cockpit drain size?

Greetings--  A couple of things in mind...

1.    Anyone have thoughts on making storm shutters for the salon windows?
I searched the A-30 site but found nothing about this.  I've seen one boat
that had .5" or so lexan (I think) that was secured over existing windows
with several wing nuts--  can that take a hit without punching a hole where
the wingnuts go through the cabin side?
    Other ideas?
    Also checked the Triton site but found nada.

2.  The standard cockpit drains are small size, to let out rainwater.  I was
also searching the site for info on enlarging them for ocean sailing.  Any
thoughts on this?  Sites with info?
    It seems it would be a significant undertaking to upgrade in this
department, but I can see the usefulness were a wave to come in.

    I'm considering sailing in the PNW , Straits of Juan de Fuca, W. side of
Vancouver Is., and so and so.
