[Public-list] Chainplate Cover screws

Stephen,  mine were installed with four very short stainless screws.  I 
used 3M 4200 to bed the covers which as you probably know is pretty 
adhesive stuff.  I doubt the screws are really all that necessary if you 
use an adhesive sealant especially since the covers are captive over the 
chainplates and can't fly off even if they came loose. Perhaps the screws 
aid in forcing the sealant into the gaps but you could do that with some 
pressure.  My decks have been recored with Divinicell and resin so the 
screws don't penetrate into any soft core material.  By the way,  the 
cover installation has a very nice finished look
