Bill,
I highly recommend the eastern shore of Mobile Bay and Fly Creek Marina,
which is a good hurricane hole.  Ask for Jack, great guy, and the number
is 251-928-4868.  There's a great bar and restaurant there to boot!  He
doesn't have facities to haul out but just across the creek is Eastern
Shore Marina where I hauled my Catalina 27 to when I moved back home to
take care of my parents.  Most of the marinas here charge $5.00/ft.  My
Alberg is now just at the entrance to Fly Creek at Fairhope Yacht club
where my slip is only $444/year.  I also gly recommend joining the club
as soon as you arrive and get your boat on the slip list.  t to me 2 1/2
years to finally get a slip, but well worth it.  I save$250/ year after
membership dues, not to mention the use of the club boats...Rhodes 19,
Flying Scots, 420's, Sunfish, Kayaks, and Boston Whaler outboards.
There is also a great pier and pierhouse (although it needs repairs
after hurricane Ivan).
