Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.  I hope to
have the mast down at the weekend.  The halyard is
jammed in so hard it was impossible to get off.  It
has kinked above the sheave and even with the guide
plates off it was impossible to move.  The exercise
reminded me how little I like heights!  Those bucket
trucks move around all over the place in only 10 knots
of wind and dont let anyone tell you otherwise.  Pay
someone else to go up!
