[Public-list] backing an Alberg

I may be a wimp, but in part because I either single-hand or sail
with my wife, at whom I do not want to yell, I don't back into my slip.
(She always grabs the wrong line or doesn't grab any line and we have
to try again.)

Of course I need to be more sensitive... as we drift helplessly out
of reach of the dock lines, but that's another story.

Anyway, my feeling is there is very little room for error backing
INTO the slip, but if I head in and back out, there is a lot of room in
the creek and even if I get headed up-creek instead of down-creek, there
is room to circle. And little to hit.

My Alberg in reverse is like my cat - she goes where she wants to go.

I love my wife, my boat and my cat and have to live as best I can
with all three.
