You can get the wood from
Exotic Lumber 1610 Whitehall Rd. 410-267-0887 or
Aircraft Spruce 877-477-7823 - ordered from them
Ask for spar grade or aircraft grade spruce
If you use another wood, make sure the grain is running in line with the
spreader and not at an angle.

Use Epifanes Teak Woodfinish Gloss
1st coat 50% thinned
2nd coat 25% thinned
5 more coats, no sanding if do within 24 hours
Or use Epifanes clear varnish with sanding per instructions on the can
Wait 4 days
Sand with 150 grit on top and sides
Use Easypoxy white undercoater on tops and sides
Then use Easypoxy white gloss on tops and sides
Don't use Allgrip (spelling?). It is brittle and it will deteriorate faster
because of the flexing. The Easypoxy works better in this application
although Allgrip works better for other applications.
