Some time ago, during a discussion about genoa sheets on this list, I
made reference to the Mobius Brummel Splice as described by Brion Toss
in "The Rigger's Apprentice". Today, I found some instructions for
this splice online at:

In case any of you are interested, this is a very nice way to get a
locked splice in single braid ropes without having to pass the
opposite end through when you do the tucks. It is really elegant and
makes splicing, which I used to think of as something that is really
hard, into something that is pretty easy.

Just thought this might be useful to someone. It's particularly easy
to perform this splice in high-performance lines such as spectra and
vectran. It is also possible to perform it with high-tech blended
single braids such as Maffioli Swiftcord, FSE Robline, NER Salsa,
Samson Apex, and Yale Conception. In short, it's a pretty awesome
splice.

later,

J
