If anyone is going to use the " pink stuff "  I would recommend sealing the reservoir really well - I find the pink plumbing anti-freeze has a sickeningly sweet smell.  I use it in the head and holding tank for the winter and never seem to get the smell out of the boat all of the next summer.

Thanks for the tip of the plastic bag of water to test a new location.  I have been thinking of moving the transducer to the centreline ahead of the keel but was worried about the thickness of fibreglass.  Now I know how to give that location a quick test before epoxying in a permanent reservoir.  Thanks  (-:
