[Public-List] Jib Track Wanderings

Roger,

This is what I have. The permanent attachment is further aft than you say, and allows me to lead the sheet to either primary or secondary winch. The genoa sheet is always lead through the block on the track, which slides back and forth as required.

The turning block I have is a cheek block mounted at an angle to lead it nicely to the winches. I do not think a carabineer would not slide well well the whole lot is under stress.

Albergers
all,

Speaking
of
sheeting,
how
about
this
plan
for
the
genoa
sheet?

the

of
the

held
3/8"
off
the
deck
with

every
3'
or
so.
What
if;
A),
mount
a
permanent

of
these
ones
held
up
by
a
spring
at
the

to
the

in
the
ideal
location
for
the
largest
genoa
close
hauled,
through
which
the
genoa
sheet
would
run
on
its

when

attach
a

a

(I
think
it's
called
a
"cheater

Could
this
arrangement
have
the
benefit
of
allowing
infinite
clew

and
height
adjustment
while
the

all
be

benefit
of
saving
the
weight
and
deck
holes
of
the
track?
Must
be
some
drawbacks.
Any
thoughts?
