Hello Albergeres,

Over the next few weeks we will have a few more postings as we are working hard to get our Lady Heron fit for the season.

About the wooden beam support - Since I had large cracks along the seems where they were glued together, I decided to try removing the whole beam. After removing the tabing (beam to hull ceiling) the bottom 4 layers came off but the top 5 stayed in place (they are screwed with 2 large bolts in the centre to the cabin top). I re-glued the bottom 4 (at home) with epoxy. Now I am ready to re-install the bottom 4 by glueing them to the top 5.

My question - to place the two 3/8 sister alu beams - I think we all agree to install again tabings (2 layers) from the ceiling over the complete side of the beam. After that, what would be the suggestion for the Alu plates. Should I glue them, Epoxy them or just screw them tight together with 5/16 s/s bolts (so I can remove them in the future if I have to)?

Thanks for some advise.

Bruno & Elyse
