Stephen,

It's probably metric, as the pumps are made in Ireland.  It might not 
even be a standard metric thread.  Yes, the materials choices are odd 
for salt water.  Yes, the parts seem expensive, as do the pumps.  I 
don't know any good alternatives, though.

I see that Jamestown Distributors only wants $47.73 for "WHA-AS3719 -- 
Eyebolt Clamping Plate Kit, EYBOLT/CLAMPING PLATE KIT GUSHER 10"
