Try using a small amount of hot glue on the ends or middle as a clamping force . Epoxy does not like strong clamping as it squeezes the glue out of the joint. It needs to be held only until the epoxy kicks . Fillet as necessary.

Installing a saddle tank in the stb locker to replace the tank under the cockpit sole.
I have the tank, courtesy of another member of this site, but now need to install a "bracket" to secure it with, which I have fashioned out of epoxy coated wood. Now need to gently screw that bracket into the hull wall/side while west system sets up, then fibreglass over all.
So, that's my tale, but running out of heat for fibregalss work!

I can't speak to that exact spot, but I removed/replaced or filled all the below-the-waterline seacocks on the whole boat and the hull was around 3/8" thick (and pretty uniform for all of them (#221).
I'm trying to remember if I drilled or looked at any holes above the waterline... I don't think so, but if I remember any I will reply again.
I'll admit that I'm curious why you are asking :) (But my mind just works that way - not that I'm challenging you or anything like that!)
