I read "Rebuilding Rose: The Tale of an Atkins Packet Sloop" this past weekend.  I'm sorry if the book has been discussed on the list previously -- but it was a great read.  The book is about a couple (Jim and Cheryl Spaulding) who buy a derelict wooden sailboat -- an early 1960s Atkins Packet Sloop -- and spend seven years restoring her.  The pain that the couple experienced through their restoration of the boat was immense and it made me feel better and better about any projects that I have carried out on my A-30.  I kept thinking, as I read, how happy I am to have a boat with a solid hull and decks.  I strongly recommend it to Alberg owners and to anybody who dreams of going from a GRP hull and decks to a "woody."
