Mike,
I am not done sailing. Might just use this as an excuse to move up.
Have been looking at Alberg 37s, Morgan 38s and Cabot 36s.

Brian,
We (or at least I) would be interested in why your are selling. Done
sailing? Moving to another boat?
If so I agree with the idea that you either re-engine or take the engine
out. If you take it out, it would be worth cleaning and painting the bilge
for salability.
If you intend to keep sailing, re-engine with a diesel and keep the A30.
It's not that large a project. I think there is no less expensive solution
for the same quality of sailing!

Brian,
It might be time well spent to google craigslist for used marine engines for
a few days. I've seen both a rebuilt atomic 4 and several used but running
small marine diesels for sale (cheap) around the Seattle area over the last
few months. If the price is right and the equipment runs OK, you could
afford to ship a used or rebuilt engine from anywhere in the country back to
your location more economically than buying new, probably for less than $400
freight cost.
BTW, don't be put off by the work involved in changing engine mounts. I
redid mine to correct some alignment issues this fall. IT was no big deal.
Took less than 3 hours to glass in new beds and bolt back up the existing
engine mounts.
Good luck,
Glenn

block is toast leaving you with the Automatic 4 which you should be able to
get at a reasonable price, installed. You'd probably increase the value of
the boat over its current "project boat" status dollar for dollar??? The
other option is, as you've stated, the new diesel option where you will not
recover the cost dollar for dollar.
