Thanks Mike, yes, that's a given.  I'm not sure I understand, there's a
solid glass barrier around the perimeter?  I didn't see that.  Around the
perimeter where I created my bevels, I still have the two layers of core,
and surprisingly they were dry.

I've got some 3/8 balsa for the core.
